Criterion Environmental, Inc. (CEI) is a full-service environmental engineering and consulting firm offering high quality, cost effective and innovative environmental services to a variety of commercial, industrial, residential and government clients. Our goal is to educate and inform the consumer and industry professional about potential hazards that may exist in their home or workplace.
Principal Engineer / Owner
Mr. Nathan Seward is Principal Engineer and owner of Criterion Environmental, Inc. Mr. Seward obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1996. Prior to starting Criterion Environmental in 2002, Mr. Seward provided various environmental engineering and consulting services for numerous air force bases, high security government projects and various commercial/industrial projects. Nate maintains some of the highest certifications and licenses available in the environmental consulting and industrial hygiene field. Mr. Seward has performed and reviewed over 9,000 environmental projects in his career including mold/bacteria investigations, asbestos/lead paint and other hazardous material inspections, as well as and numerous types of indoor air quality and industrial hygiene investigations.
Timothy K. Ryan, B.Sc., CAC, LRCIA, LRCPM
Department Manager / Senior Industrial Hygienist
Mr. Timothy Ryan is a Department Manager and Senior Industrial Hygienist for Criterion Environmental, Inc. Mr. Ryan obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Science with an emphasis in Occupational Safety and Health from California State University, Fresno in 1997. Prior to joining Criterion Environmental (CEI) in May 2002, Tim managed the health and safety program for an AIHA/NELAP certified air quality/analytical chemistry laboratory as well as performed risk management assessments, chemical hygiene program, hazardous waste management and disposal. Tim also performed field VOC air sampling assessments for Los Angeles Unified School District. While with CEI, Mr. Ryan has performed, managed and reviewed over 5,000 environmental projects including pre-demolition asbestos surveys, AHERA school re-inspections, lead-based paint hazard screenings, lead soil contamination studies, naturally-occurring asbestos (NOA) abatement monitoring and various VOC/indoor air quality assessments.
